Nordic beverages
Beer and aquavit may be the obvious choice when serving alcoholic beverages at a Nordic event. However, the production and variety of Nordic drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic has grown and changed considerably during the last century.
Wine making is now a growing business in several Nordic countries. Both table wines and dessert wines of Nordic origin are available on the market. Production of beverages made from Nordic berries and fruit have exploded and health-conscious consumers nowadays choose juice from vitamin-rich berries like home-grown sea hawthorn, blueberries and aronia as well as single-variety apple juice.
Small, local breweries have popped up everywhere which has broadened the range and taste spectrum of beer and lager. Small distilleries in the Nordic countries even provide the market with whisky and gin.
